He has been an expert authority in managing construction, drilling, and completions operations for Dome, Amoco, Crestar Energy, Gulf, and ConocoPhillips. Geoff is a professional leader that uses the most current technology to deliver cost efficient, timely projects in a safe compliant manner.


Derrick Russell

A Petroleum Engineering Technologist with over 23 years of oilfield experience throughout Western Canada, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, the Canadian Arctic and New Zealand. He has managed completion, workover, re-completion, and abandonment operations and the preparation of: well programs, cost estimates, multi-stage fracturing programs, multi-well shallow gas programs, ERCB regulatory procedures, service tenders, etc.


Hugh Rennie

A Gas & Petroleum Tech with over 29 years of drilling experience in all areas of the western Canadian sedimentary basin. Has worked on a variety of wells ranging from; multi-well shallow gas programs, 4500m deep critical sour gas wells, under-balanced long reach horizontal multi frac and coiled tubing drills to conventional vertical wells. An expert authority in managing drilling operations, Hugh has worked with companies including: Dome Petroleum, Amoco Canada, Crestar Energy, Gulf Canada, ConocoPhillips & Mahalo Energy before joining Tristar in 2008. Provides effective leadership that uses the most current technology to deliver cost efficient, timely projects in a manner that is both safe and regulatory compliant.

Tyler Baynham

A Certified Engineering Technologist with over 29 years of experience in large civil and infrastructure projects in Alberta. He has managed multi-million dollar programs for both private and municipal government clients. His experience in underground utilities, structural bridges, transportation, contract administration, and environmental reclamations provides our clients with time-sensitive and cost efficient solutions to all their projects. Combined with strong communication skills and dedication to clients, he is committed to ensure the client's goals are achieved.

Chris Stang

An oilfield Completions Specialist with over 22 years' operational experience working in the oil and gas industry. With an emphasis on safety, he has coordinated and executed a wide range of well servicing operations. A track record with resounding results in operational and capital efficiency, Chris is an asset to the Tristar team.

Jeff Harris

With over 38 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, 37 of these in directly related supervisory and completion programming positions, and 33 years self-employed as a Completions Specialist. Proven ability and willingness to handle high workloads and oversee challenging field operations. Possesses strong oral communication skills combined with a tough, but fair approach ensures project deadlines and cost projections are met.

Jared Erichsen

A Petroleum Engineering Technologist with over 18 years of oilfield related experience throughout western Canada. He has overseen completion, workover, abandonment and suspension operations throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He has been responsible for providing completion, workover and abandonment programs, cost estimates, file reviews, regulatory documentation, SO2 dispersion modeling and operational supervision. With an unsurpassable work ethic and dedication to clients he ensures that client's goals are achieved in a timely, cost effective and regulatory compliant fashion.

Dave Russell

A Completions Superintendent with over 27 years' experience in the oil and gas industry. His awareness and approach to health and safety concerns and proven records in cost control on all of his operations have contributed to the wide range of experience he brings from operations throughout Western Canada.

Schyler Henschel

A Professional Engineer with over 10 years of oilfield experience throughout Western Canada. Experience managing drilling operations, completion and well abandonment programs to knowledge in supply chain management. Skilled in directional drilling, well planning and risk management, Schyler’s diverse yet in depth understanding of oilfield operations is the client’s advantage. Knowledgeable and professional, he is committed to the needs of clients and provides project planning and management in a manner that is both efficient and cost-effective.

Shellie Scott

A Certified Petroleum Engineering Technologist with over 9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in both office and field settings. Focused and committed, she ensures projects are completed in a manner that is consistent with the needs of the client while also being efficient, cost-conscious and in compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.

A drilling EIT with 4 years' experience in the oil and gas industry. Stephen is experienced in both field and office settings with a results oriented drive to perform in a cost effective and timely manner.

Clint Dalziel

Over 8 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry over 3 of which as a Technical Professional working in Fracturing Optimization and Production Enhancement in Calgary, AB. Responsibilities included all aspects of programming and design, in many areas of Western Canada and a wide variety of oil and gas wells ranging from southern shallow gas projects to deeper wells in the Grand Prairie area.
